Nibin Raj is a Kerala Mural artist from Kozhikode, Kerala. His parents are Baburaj and Nalini, from Puthiyaramannil house in Kunnamangalam, Kozhikode.
After completing his school education, he attained a Bachelor's degree in History. He went on to secure First Class in the 5-year Diploma course in Mural Painting from The Institute of Mural Painting, which is administered by the Guruvayur Devaswom.
"He has been working in the field of Kerala's mural art since the year 2005. His paintings are creative and original compositions that have gained acclaim both within and outside Kerala as well as abroad."
Bestowed by the Kerala Cultural Department in 2018 for young artists.
Part of the team that conducted renovation work at the Mattancherry Dutch Palace under the initiative of the Central Archeological Team.
Appointed as Head of the Kerala Mural Art Department at Malayala Kala Gramam, Mahe (2015). Instrumental in completing the largest mural work (12m x 3m) in North Kerala in 2019.
Apart from fulfilling his official duties at Malayala Kala Gramam in Mahe, artist Nibin Raj also conducts regular classes in Mahe and Bangalore, imparting systematic training in Kerala Mural art to young and old students alike.
"He aims to promote the art form and teach the Kerala mural painting techniques in its authentic traditional form to people living outside Kerala as well."
Nibin has executed many mural painting projects at various prestigious locations across South India.
